Professor Lisa Sardinia will present Epigentics and Eye Disease. Epigenetics relies on modifications in gene expression induced by environmental alterations without changing the DNA structure. In this presentation, the mechanism of epigenetics will be described, as well as new research suggesting that disruption of epigenetic gene expression regulation may play a crucial role in the development of the most frequent ocular diseases.
