- Academic Need Equipment Loan
- Students who find themselves unable to complete their academic work because they do not have a computer or do not have home internet access that meets their current needs are eligible for a loan of equipment by UIS.
- Most commonly, UIS loans out used (but still in good shape) MacBook Air laptops and mobile internet hotspots. Such loans are typically made on a term-long basis, and the need is re-evaluated at the end of the term. In addition to or instead of loaning physical equipment, UIS may give access to web-based virtual desktops to students. The availability of equipment for loan cannot be guaranteed by UIS.
