To participate in Pacific University’s TRIO-SSS program, students must meet all of the following requirements.
- Enrolled at Pacific University and working towards their first bachelor’s degree.
- Has a need for academic support in order to successfully complete a postsecondary educational program.
- This criteria is broadly defined, and may include but is not limited to low GPA, low entrance or placement test scores, a need for assistance in completing a college level math or English course, and/or being a commuter student, transfer student or nontraditional student.
- Is a citizen or national of the United States or meets the residency requirements for federal student financial assistance.
And students must meet at least one of these criteria:
- First-generation college student: neither parent or guardian has earned a four-year bachelor’s degree.
- Income-eligible: Meets federal low-income guidelines. See below (verified by Pacific University Financial Aid Office).
- Documented disability: Has a documented disability (verified by Pacific University Office of Accessibility and Accommodations).
