Significant research and work have already been conducted by a Freedom of Expression Task Force, approved by the University Council in October of 2022. In May 2025, the University Council agreed to reestablish a new task force during the 2025-26 academic year to continue this work. The Provost, as chair of the University Council, is seeking nominations of faculty and staff to fill two faculty and two staff member positions. Given the scope of this project, the time commitment is estimated to be between 3-5 hours per month, but may vary depending on the progress of the work. We anticipate that the completion of this work will be spring of 2026. The nomination deadline is tomorrow, Nov. 7.
