Pacific University staffer Rebeka Andrade has been honored by the Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce as one of the community’s up-and-coming leaders.
Andrade, who serves as executive assistant in Pacific’s President’s Office, was named the recipient of the chamber’s 2026 Rising Leader Award, which was presented at the organization’s annual gala on June 27.
Claudia Yakos, executive director of the Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce, said the award recognizes Andrade’s willingness to step forward, build relationships, serve others, and create positive change, and as someone whose integrity, dedication and vision are making a meaningful difference in the community.
“Through her work at Pacific University and her involvement throughout our community, Rebeka has earned the respect of colleagues, partners, and friends alike,” Yakos said. “She is known for her professional, thoughtful collaboration and quiet confidence. She has a remarkable ability to bring people together, foster meaningful partnerships, and inspire those around her through action rather than recognition.”
Andrade credits those around her for helping her develop as a leader. “I have had great examples of leaders throughout my career at Pacific, and (the award) is a reflection of the team that supports you,” Andrade said. “Pacific has given me multiple opportunities to continue and develop leadership skills and the Chamber has allowed me to connect with others in the community and continue to build those professional relationships.”
Andrade has served as the executive assistant in the President’s Office since May 2022. Before joining the President’s Office, Andrade served as a program coordinator for the City of Forest Grove and spent four-and-a-half years as an administrative assistant for Pacific’s School of Social Sciences. She began her professional career as an operations support coordinator for DeVry University in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Andrade earned her bachelor’s degree in finance in 2013 and her Master of Business Administration in 2021, both from DeVry University.
