Q. What is your educational background?
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with an Emphasis in Toxicology and Chemistry. Minor: Psychological Health and Well-Being.
Q. What inspired you to pursue a career in pharmacy?
My interest in pharmacy began at a really young age. I would accompany my mom to the pharmacy and always be eager to read the medication handout to learn about the purpose and effects of the medication. It was from these experiences that contributed to my interest in pursuing a career in pharmacy so that I can strengthen my knowledge of the various mechanisms of medications and play a role in both patient care and medication safety.
Q. Why did you choose Pacific University School of Pharmacy?
I choose PUSOP because of the supportive community that they establish for their students. Faculty and Staff are understanding and will find ways to support student success both academically and through the various organizations.
Q. What has been your favorite APPE experience so far as a pharmacy student?
Health System! I was able to follow various pharmacists in different areas and better understand the workflow of a pharmacist in transitions of care, oncology and in administration.
Q. What do you enjoy doing outside of pharmacy school?
Bowling, reading and baking!
Q. What advice would you give to prospective or incoming pharmacy students?
Be kind to yourself. Recognize that studying habits may change and it's okay if it takes a little longer to understand something! The most important thing is not to give up.
Q. Looking ahead, what career goals or interests are you considering after graduation?
I hope to be a Transition of Care pharmacist and be a preceptor to aspiring pharmacists!
