Outdoor Pursuits

The Pacific Northwest conjures up images of peaks rising above green forests, hidden coves and bays dotting the coast, and rivers that flow year round from the Cascade and Coastal Ranges. Pacific University is located right in the middle of it all.

Learn and apply problem-solving skills in engaging settings and challenge yourself in new ways. Outdoor Pursuits gives you the tools and knowledge to get out and explore the incredible world around us.

Whether you seek to test the waters by signing up for a day trip, or want to dive into a semester learning new skills, Outdoor Pursuits has something for you. Join us on a trip in one of twelve different disciplines or try your hand at skiing, kayaking, or climbing for credit.

NEW: Outdoor Pursuits is excited to announce our first international trip to the Río Usumacinta in the Lancandon Rainforest offered over winter term 2018!

After completing the prerequisite, OL-155 in the fall, students enrolled in OL-255 will embark on the journey on January 5th to explore the rivers, ruins, and wildlife that the classical Mayan world has to offer. Interested? Attend the Q&A Forum hosted on Tuesday, April 11th at 5:30pm  in our office! We will be discussing the logistics and details of the trip as well as answering questions that students may have. Authentic, Mexican snacks will also be provided.

For more information about this incredible opportunity, you can read the respecitve course descriptions or talk to the instructor, Sam Morrison either in our office or via email at sam@pacificu.edu. We'd love to chat with you!
