WalkerChris Walker ’21 received the Pacific University College of Arts & Sciences Dean of Students Award.

Walker’s professors said he is a strong advocate for students, especially transfer students and veterans. He shared more of his story in a 2020 Veterans Day story.

“He was instrumental in the opening of the Veteran's Resource Center and consistently reaches out to student veterans to assist them in their transition to Pacific,” his nominators said. “Chris models exceptional leadership through reflection, curiosity, and vulnerability. Chris came to Pacific with maturity, compassion, and care for others, but has continued his growth to the next level as an outstanding student and community member.”

Walker, a former Marine, graduated in May 2021 with a degree in psychology. He said he hopes to become a clinical psychologist to work with veterans diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, as he was.

As a student, he served on the Undergraduate Student Senate.
