Counseling Center Offers Online Mindfulness Practice Series

The Student Counseling Center presents a series of online mindful coping practice videos for students to practice independently.

The center has offered several Mindful Coping Groups in-person over the past three years and now provides this tool for students to learn and extend their practice from home.

The four-part series includes an introduction with SCC staff members Allison Hajdu-Paulen, Wan-Chen Weng, and Jessie Larson, as well as three practice videos, each focusing on one of the themes of recognition, insight and openness.

The three practice videos include introductions, meditation exercises, journal prompts, and metaphors to help guide students through the strategies of mindfulness.

A student workbook also is available to use with the videos.

Find the mindful coping practice series on the university’s YouTube channel, and watch for more emerging content from the Student Counseling Center on its playlist.

If you need help or support while completing the exercises, or for any other reason, the Student Counseling Center continues to provide appointments through teletherapy and referrals. Contact the Student Counseling Center at 503-352-2191 or at counselingcenter@pacificu.edu.
