Why Study Accounting at Pacific University?
Accountants and CPAs are indispensable professionals in every organization, where their financial and analytical expertise are critical for companies, government agencies, and nonprofits. Accountants are prepared to pursue rewarding careers across diverse industries.
As a student in the bachelor of accountancy program, you’ll learn from caring, expert faculty and benefit from a supportive environment dedicated to your success.
In addition to coursework in accounting, Pacific students complete courses in operations, economics, marketing, and law to develop a well-rounded background in business. Students can also add concentrations in management, finance, marketing or international business. Our program is designed to give students the skills to effectively and efficiently manage organizations with responsible leadership.
What Can You Do with an Accountancy Degree?
Graduates of the bachelor of accountancy degree program hold positions as managerial accountants, auditors, financial analysts, and tax accountants. Some CPAs may start their own firms, advising individuals and corporations.
Accountants are consistently in demand and earn a higher than average salary. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects that the U.S. will add 136,400 openings for accountants and auditors each year over the next decade. As of May 2021, the median annual wage for accountants and auditors was $77,250.
Pacific accounting alumni work at organizations like Deloitte, Moss Adams, McDonald Jacobs and Geffen Mesher, and Perkins & Co. Plus, accountants develop expertise in finance and analytical thinking, which are key skills for leadership positions.
