Master of Arts in Teaching in General Education

Master's Degree

Take coursework through our full-time, "fifth-year" program. This program is ideally suited for those looking to complete their course of study in one year on our Forest Grove or Eugene campuses. Learn side-by-side with master teachers through practicum placement opportunities locally, regionally, and even in Hawai’i! You’ll begin the ESOL endorsement within the MAT program and can finish online while teaching.
Students who choose to work or have other full-time commitments may prefer our hybrid model program. Although based in Forest Grove and Eugene, these programs offer coursework through a combination of face-to-face and online delivery of content over four semesters. Students only need to visit campus about once a month, and some coursework may also be offered in their local school districts. Practicum experiences take place in schools close to students' homes.
Full-time programs begin in mid-June in Forest Grove and late-August in Eugene. Hybrid programs begin in January in Forest Grove and late-August in Eugene.
