Fall Work & Service Fair and early student recruitment
Are you starting to think about hiring your 26-27 student team? This post details:
-
A save the date for the Fall Work & Service Fair
-
Opportunities for early tabling in the University Center for folks who want to hit the ground running
-
An opportunity to share job descriptions with the Pacific Opportunity Hub for distribution in AuCoin Hall and by academic advisors / career and experiential learning coaches
Fall 2026 Work & Service Fair: September 22
The new Pacific Opportunity Hub will continue hosting a Work & Service Fair every Fall and Spring semester. These fairs are an opportunity for students to learn about on- and off-campus jobs, experiential learning opportunities, summer and post-graduate positions, etc.
The Fall 2026 Fair will take place on Thursday, September 22 from 11am-1pm. Registration will open soon, but please "Save the Date"! The event is free for campus supervisors and a great way to spread the word about your open student positions. It is also taking place a little later in the semester than we normally host it - as we anticipate that both students and our campus partners will require a little more runway this year to get going in newly restructured units.
Early Tabling in the UC with the MCCE
As the Work & Service Fair will take place a few weeks later than normal, some units may wish to do earlier outreach to students. The McCall Center for Civic Engagement, for example, plans to table in the University Center from 11:30am-1:30pm on both Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4. Would you like to join them? Morgan Knapp is coordinating tables, so email her directly if you would like one set aside for you there and/or if you would like to partner on a similar event on the Hillsboro campus.
Share Job Descriptions with the Opportunity Hub
Alternatively, please know that the Pacific Opportunity Hub would be happy to share your job descriptions with students proactively. We frequently hear from students who need campus jobs during advising appointments and career planning sessions, and we host the Work & Service Board in AuCoin Hall. As you post your student positions on PayCom, please email us at advising@pacificu.edu if you would like us to share the positions on the board and/or highlight them in student meetings and communications.
Is there any other way the Hub can help? Don't hesitate to reach out...and happy hiring!
