At Pacific University, we’re building a community where respect, inclusion, and safety are foundational—not optional. Hazing has no place here. Whether it’s labeled a “tradition” or “team bonding,” if an activity causes harm, humiliation, or pressure—it may be hazing.
We encourage all students, staff, and faculty to understand what hazing is, how to prevent it, and how to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
This week is National Hazing Prevention week. You can participate by:
-
Check out Pacific's Hazing Prevention webpage for more information about hazing and reporting hazing.
-
Schedule an in-person training for your group by emailing Megan Rice at mahocker@pacificu.edu
-
Print and post a National Hazing Prevention Week poster
-
Take the pledge to stop hazing through the Hazing Prevention Network
-
Stop by our tabling from 11am-1pm in HPC2 atrium Wednesday September 23 and Thursday September 24th and Friday September 25th in the Forest Grove University Center.
