Boxer II’s Twin Returns
The Forest Grove News-Times chronicled Pacific receiving a twin of the Boxer II statue, an exact copy of the statue cast in the early 1980s. The twin, also sculpted by Pat Costello, was given to his parents and gifted to the university in June.
In Business
Tim Lantz of "Portland's Afternoon News" on KXL-FM profiled the undergraduate business "Empowering Communities Through Student Leadership & Technology Innovation" internship program, which pairs students with local businesses to evaluate their digital presence.
Pacific in Hawai‘i
During Pacific’s annual summer trip to Hawai‘i, President Coyle and Trustee Gary Pacarro appeared on HI Now Daily to discuss Pacific and its Hawai‘i connections; President Coyle was discussed the university’s future on Hawai‘i’s top morning show; and Hawaii News Now visited the 808 to 503 new student orientation event in Honolulu.

Faculty members from three of Pacific’s graduate programs appeared on KOIN AM Extra in Portland to give regional families health tips as they send their kids back to school.

Oft-quoted Politics & Government Professor Jules Boykoff talked about the June “No Kings” protests and the upcoming World Cup. New optometry dean Bisant Labib was profiled by Women in Optometry. Optometry Professor Bill Hefner taught ways to prevent and treat dry eye. And elementary teacher and Pacific alumna Aja Appel talked about education rooted in curiosity and connection at Pacific’s ELC.
