Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), a national recognized suicide prevention training. This training is being offered via collaboration between the Student Counseling Center and Dean Jaye Cee Whitehead. This empirically-validated training will equip you to recognize the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communication of people at risk as well as gain the skills to act and help save a life.
QPR training also includes important information about resources at Pacific as well as education about making referrals and navigating boundaries while supporting someone in distress.
This QPR will run 90 minutes and participants receive a Certificate of Completion as well as QPR literature to carry and guide their response to someone expressing suicidal thoughts and feelings.
Please note: QPR training may not be appropriate for someone who has experienced a loss to suicide and/or their own suicidality within the last year and a half.
