Pacific University Boxer Brand

Paragraphs

A brand is more than a logo and color scheme; it’s the shared experience people associate with an organization.

At Pacific, our brand is the way we show up in the world. It’s our legacy of access, inclusion and community impact. It’s our caring nature, and the personal connections forged among students, employees, alumni, partners and friends. It’s the mark Boxers make on their communities and on our world.

Our unified visual and editorial standards are consistent representations of that brand — they are the symbols that remind people of the experience and feelings they associate with Pacific. By following these standards, you serve as a steward of the university’s reputation.

All university marketing and communications must adhere to the Pacific University Trademark, Licensing and Brand policy.

Who We Are

At Pacific University, we belong.

To a home that welcomes us from the moment we arrive.

To a community that celebrates us for who we are and who we’ll become.

To a place that dares us to pursue something we’ve always wanted and to push beyond what we never dreamed.

As students, families, alumni, employees, and friends, we are united in a greater purpose: to think, care, create, and pursue justice in the world.

With a legacy rooted in service, Boxers are the backbone of our community. We recognize the potential in each member of our community. We always have — and always will — uplift those who uphold others.

We are educators, caregivers, creators, innovators, and leaders. We live lives of purpose, on purpose.

Logos & Marks

Students and employees may access university logos and marks from BrandFolder. Please pay close attention to usage requirements with each file. External parties interested in using the university logo must contact the Office of Marketing & Communications at marcom@groups.pacificu.edu.

Official Logo

The Pacific University logo is a trademarked symbol of the university. It includes the stylized Boxer head and the words “Pacific University Oregon.” It is required on all official communications and/or branded products. It is available in multiple colorways, including red/black, black, red, white, and gray. It may not be produced in any other colors.

The university logo may not be redrawn, re-proportioned or modified in any manner. It also may not be animated. The standalone Boxer head also is a protected symbol of the university but may only be used in limited circumstances.

The logo should not be used at a size smaller than .75 inches wide, from the left edge of the U to the right tip of the Boxer tongue. A minimum distance of padding around the logo should be no smaller than the height of the letter P.

If smaller use is needed (such as on pens or lapel pins), please contact the Office of Marketing & Communications at marcom@groups.pacificu.edu for access to a horizontal version or alterations.

Tier Logos

Tier logos are a combination of the official university logo with a secondary text line denoting a specific unit or program within Pacific University. Following Pacific's university-wide restructure and in anticipation of the potential merger with Willamette, tier logos are currently on hiatus. Please default to use of the official Pacific University logo. No university-operated programs or organizations may develop or use alternative logos.

University Seal

The university seal is a scallop-edged circle containing the university’s founding year and Latin motto. It is reserved exclusively for formal/ceremonial use on materials such as diplomas/degrees and by the president’s office.

Athletic P

The block letter P is a symbol of the Boxer Athletics programs. It may be used on athletic uniforms, gear and fan apparel. It is not an acceptable substitute for the university logo on promotional, marketing or other official university materials.

Branded Products

Products bearing the Pacific University logo are a great tool for building brand recognition and increasing Boxer Spirit.

Product Design

Products must use the primary color palette — red, black, grey and white. This includes all patterned backgrounds and aloha gear.

Individual clubs, programs and events may not develop separate logos. However, artwork on products, like T-shirts, may represent those clubs, programs or events, as long as the university logo is included on the product. (For example, artwork on the front or back torso of a T-shirt, accompanied by a university logo on the sleeve or nape of the neck.)

Please contact Marketing & Communications at marcom@groups.pacificu.edu with questions or for assistance.

Licensed Vendors

Only licensed vendors are authorized to create products using trademarked Pacific University logos. All branded product must be ordered from a licensed vendor. Review the licensed vendor list.

Vendors who want to become licensed may start the application process by emailing Tim Potter at tpotter@nexuslicensinggroup.com
