In 1869, when the nation was just beginning to heal from the Civil War, Harriet Hoover Killin became the first woman to graduate from Pacific, joining two men to make up the university’s fifth graduating class.

Autumn Davis MBA ’19, Breanne Davis ’16, OT ’19, and Carmel Nichol ’16, MSW ’17 completed a family triple play when Breanne was awarded her doctorate in occupational therapy. She was the third triplet in the family to earn a graduate degree from Pacific.

Aurea and Leslie Lomeli each earned a bachelor of education in teaching and English language learning after studying side by side at Pacific.

Irene Catalan PharmD '15 is an inpatient pharmacist at Providence Medford Medical Center, specializing in pharmaceutical care for cardiovascular patients.

Naihe, who graduated from Pacific University on May 18 with a bachelor’s degree in art design, worked feverishly to make sure that his senior capstone project at Pacific was perfect. 

Alumna Fallon Harris '14 created the nonprofit Eden Acres, promoting environmental literacy for all learners of all ages. The organization is partnered with area schools, public agencies, and businesses, offering outdoor classes and sustainability activities for youth.

After Bernard Brown '49, OD '50 earned a Purple Heart and his way home from the European Theater in World War II, he pursued a lifelong career in optometry with a degree from Pacific University. Later, he helped other veterans follow him into the profession.

Recent business alumnus Jonas Hanna '18 launched his business just before graduation. Less than a year later, his product is on the market in stores like Made in Oregon.

A retired educator and speech pathologist, Steve Dustrude '73 has invested in student success, in and out of the classroom. He's been a leader in Oregon's education system and an advocate for student support at Pacific University.

As executive administrator of the Hawai`i Council on Developmental Disabilities, Daintry Bartoldus '88 spends her working hours ensuring support for vulnerable members of her community. But outside of work, she goes even further, taking in neighbors and lifting up those in need.
