Master of Arts in Teaching in General Education

Master's Degree

Become a teacher with Pacific's Master of Arts in Teaching Program. Based at our Forest Grove and Eugene campuses, our MAT tracks prepare students for initial teacher licensure with programs designed to fit their lives.

Full-time students can take coursework through our "fifth-year" program, ideally designed for recent college graduates who want to add a teaching license to their credentials. Take coursework on our Forest Grove or Eugene campuses, and learn side-by-side with master teachers through practicum placements in local school districts.

Students who choose to work or have other full-time commitments may prefer our hybrid model program. Though also based in Forest Grove and Eugene, these programs offer coursework through a combination of face-to-face and online delivery of content over four semesters. Students only need to visit campus about once a month, and some coursework may also be offered in their local school districts. Practicum experiences take place in schools close to students' homes.

Full-time programs begin in mid-June in Forest Grove and mid-September in Eugene. Hybrid programs begin in January in Forest Grove and last August in Eugene.
