BA in Music Education Licensure Procedures

The BA in music education degree is designed to prepare students to pursue teaching licensure procedure through graduate degree programs.

• All states require teachers to have a valid teaching license if they are to teach music in Pre-K-12 music education settings.
• Teaching licenses can be earned through a fifth year Master of Arts teaching programs that are available at several universities in Oregon or through two-year Master in Music degrees offered at few universities in Oregon.

Students who complete this degree and are interested in pursing a teaching license will have an opportunity to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Pacific University’s College of Education.
