Interviews | Physician Assistant Studies
Based on the review of the application by the Admissions Committee, the most competitive applicants are invited for a personal interview. The interview is required and is a strong contributing factor in the admission decision. It allows the Admissions Committee to assess essential skills and factors which may not be reflected in the application. In the interview, consideration is given to candidates’ knowledge of the profession, motivation toward a career as a physician assistant, ability to think clearly and logically, self-confidence, verbal and written expression of ideas and program compatibility.
Update for 2020-2021 Cycle: This year has presented everyone with new challenges and hardships. We would like to be proactive and thoughtful in how we conduct our next cycle of interviews. Knowing the complicated logistics and monetary hardships that travel may cause, not to mention the threat of a second wave of the pandemic, we have decided to conduct all interviews remotely over the fall months. We take great pride in our on-campus interview events and are disappointed that we won’t be hosting them, in the same manner. However, we think this is the most responsible choice in this current climate.
We are working diligently to ensure our virtual interview process is equal to our on-campus events. We envision a combination of virtual (Zoom-based) presentations, interviews, and student-centered activities, mixed with optional opportunities to engage in on-campus events. Details will be sent out to those invited to interview during September, October and November. Whether virtual or in-person, we look forward to sharing our Boxer Spirit with you!
