Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Minor

Minor

Prepare to teach English as a second language, here in the United States or overseas.

Students learn the foundations of teaching English to a variety of ages, and they choose from foreign language courses in French, Chinese, Spanish, German or Japanese. Those who are already proficient in one of those languages can choose from cultural studies courses instead.

Students who major in education and learning in the College of Education can use the TESOL minor to work toward an ESOL endorsement with their Oregon teaching license.

But the minor can also be paired with any major, preparing students to teach English overseas.
