Braden Kojima '21: Outstanding Senior in Kinesiology

KojimaBraden Kojima ’21 was named a Pacific University Outstanding Senior in Kinesiology. The senior from Kamuela, Hawai’i earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in May 2021.

Kojima “has demonstrated excellence and leadership in both academics and athletics during his time at Pacific,” his professors said, noting he has assisted in science laboratories and served as soccer captain.

“Although a global pandemic created unprecedented obstacles to conducting human movement research, Braden embraced the challenges with aplomb,” they said. “Braden’s research study, ‘The effects of cloth face masks on heart rate during exercise,’ creatively addressed the real-life implications of the pandemic to merge his passions of human movement and health.”

Kojima plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Colorado. His classmates, Montana Vaught '21 and Savannah Grosse '21, were also named Outstanding Senior in Kinesiology.
