Andy Saultz, PhD, interim dean of the College of Education, has received a $50,000 research grant award from the Spencer Foundation for the project “Innovations in Measuring, Analyzing, and Discussing Race and Racial Inequality in Education Research and Journalism.” Pacific will collaborate with the Northwest Evaluation Association on the project.

Construction work at Pacific Hall this week includes erecting scaffolding, demolition, and possible window removal. A reminder for students and employees to adhere to all construction safety signage posted at the gates, and to refrain from walking down the fire lane even when the gates are open.
High school students at health sciences day
Pacific University’s Oregon Healthcare Workforce Institute (OHWI) has been awarded a $12,000 grant from Worksystems, Inc. The grant will go toward an upcoming four-day healthcare career exploration program, which targets underserved high school sophomores and juniors from Hillsboro High School.
The annual staff performance review is an opportunity to document achievements and goals to create alignment, recognition, and shared purpose between employees and their supervisor. Learn more about the upcoming process and deadlines.
Student supervisors, a reminder that student timecards will be locked starting on Thursday, June 29, for the fiscal year rollover. Also, please remember to notify Human Resources if you have students working this summer.         
Join Pacific University and Adelle Monteblanco, Public Health assistant professor, in a summer heat-mapping campaign to help identify urban heat islands in our region. Your contribution will reveal the distribution of heat across the region, helping local cities to plan for the future and provide much needed relief. 
The bulk of the work at Pacific Hall for the next two to three weeks will primarily comprise demolition, abatement, utility safe off and delivery of materials and storage containers to the site. Learn more about activites during the week of June 5.
