Appointments and Policies

Appointments

Appointments are available and encouraged for most CLASS tutoring hours. This is the best way to ensure 1-on-1 time with a tutor. If you would like to make a group appointment with a tutor, have one member of your group schedule the appointment and indicate the additional students on the appointment form. If an appointment time is not taken, you are welcome to walk into the center and request to work with a tutor. We offer limited drop-in hours for select subjects. For assistance making an appointment, or if you are unable to find a time that works for you, email us at class@contact.pacificu.edu

Drop-in tutoring

CLASS offers drop-in tutoring for select undergraduate subjects and graduate programs. During these hours, students can show up to the designated space without an appointment to work with a tutor alongside their peers.

While we strive to maintain our regular hours, they are subject to change, so always check the schedule to confirm our tutoring hours before you arrive.

Policies

Appointment Limits

You may schedule appointments for up to three weeks in advance and are able to schedule a maximum of 5 appointments per week. Appointments in excess of this may be made in consultation with a peer tutor on an as-needed basis. If you think you may need additional tutoring beyond those limits, please consult with your tutor.

Lateness

You are expected to arrive on time for your appointment. If you do not arrive within 10 minutes of your appointment start time, you will be marked as a no-show, and your appointment time will be forfeited.

Cancelations

If you are unable to make it to your appointment, please cancel it so that another student may use the appointment time. If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.

No-shows

After three no-shows in a given semester, you may be restricted from making and attending future tutoring appointments. You will be contacted by CLASS administrators to discuss your attendance prior to any restrictions being put in place. You can avoid no-shows by canceling any appointments that you cannot attend.

Checking in

You may check in to your appointment or drop-in hours no more than 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. You must check-in for scheduled appointments within 10 minutes of your appointment start time.

Privacy

Consistent with FERPA guidelines, information about student usage of CLASS services is kept private unless requested by the student, with the exception of instances where academic misconduct has occurred.
