The Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS), operated by the Pacific University Libraries, offers peer tutoring to undergraduate, professional, and graduate students. Tutoring is available in person at the Forest Grove and Hillsboro campuses, and online for select subjects.
CLASS aims to improve student success by providing a welcoming environment where students can work toward their academic goals with peer support. Peer tutors help students develop effective learning and study strategies and provide students with guidance in understanding concepts and solving problems.
Current students provide all of the tutoring for CLASS. Tutors are approved by the departments for which they provide support, and are trained in the practice of peer tutoring to help other students learn.
Tutoring is available in 25 and 55-minute sessions. Appointments are available and encouraged for most CLASS tutoring hours. For more information, see our detailed page on how to get tutoring.
In addition to providing one-on-one tutoring, CLASS tutors also create helpful guides to challenging concepts to assist students in their courses. These guides are available online, and print copies are available by request.
