At their 30th class reunion in 2003, his classmates honored his efforts by unveiling the Mad Dog Scholarship Fund. The fund reached the endowment level in 2009 and offered its first scholarship to an optometry student in 2010.
Tran Library
As it celebrates its 10-year anniversary this fall, the Library is still counted among the “new” buildings on Pacific University’s Forest Grove Campus. A decade, after all, is nothing compared to the original campus library, Carnegie Hall, which marked its centennial in 2012, or the recently renovated Scott Hall, which was the library from 1967 to 2010.

1902 Womans Basketball Team
The Nov. 15, 1905, issue of The Pacific Index reported that both men and women were gearing up for a season of the relatively new-fangled game of basketball. Women had participated in athletics at Pacific before. They were members of the archery team, and they played on the tennis squad with the men. Basketball, however, was something a little different.
