Pacific University is pleased to host the annual Hap Hingston Forensics Invitational speech and debate tournament to be held Saturday, Jan. 11, to Sunday, Jan. 12. Pacific is also pleased to host the annual Fred Scheller Forensics Invitational speech and debate tournament to be held Friday, Jan. 24, to Sunday, Jan. 26. Both tournaments are looking for judges.

Pacific is looking for participants to take part in a program to help individuals with Parkinson’s improve their speech and swallowing. The two-part program starts with individual speech therapy followed by weekly group therapy.

Research is like a puzzle for Rachel Araiza ’22. “I like trying to figure out what’s going on and being the first to figure it out,” said Araiza. A love of the outdoors and biology led her to the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove to examine the eating habits of the bullfrogs that live in the wetlands.
