We understand that the current environment is stressful on all university employees, both personally and professionally. In these unprecedented times, this is our commitment to employees.
It is absolutely our intent to schedule an opportunity to celebrate the Classes of 2020 in person and give you an opportunity to cross the stage, whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student, when it is safe to do so. The cancelation of the May ceremony is only an indication that this will not happen in May, and we are not yet able to reschedule.
Pacific is transitioning to online courses by April 1. Some programs are paused for this transition, while others continue. Learn more about how to make a successful transition to online classes. 
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing new adjustments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of this pandemic is touching every aspect of our lives, and the situation is changing rapidly.
Optometry exam

Dorianne Laux was recently selected as a 2020 Pulitzer Prize finalist in poetry for Only As The Day Is Long: New and Selected Poems (W.W. Norton, 2019).
Public Health Update
Pacific temporarily suspends all in-person instruction during the week of March 16; dates of resumption vary. Campus services continue, plan for remainder of semester. Pacific expands online tools for employee.
The Department of English is pleased to announce the winners of the Pacific University 2019 Writing Contests in the categories of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, literary analysis, and college writing.
