Pacific University is proud to remember and celebrate the history, heritage and culture of Indigenous peoples during the month of November. Educational events include a museum exhibit, online library display, philosophy colloquium and movie screening.

The program is led partly by Ruth Zúñiga, an associate professor in School of Graduate Psychology at Pacific University and director of the university’s Sabiduría Latina/o psychology emphasis.
Pacific University undergraduates now have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of the world through the new Global Scholars Program. Starting with a first-year seminar and companion travel experience, participating students will complete a set of requirements focused on international and diverse perspectives, mastering a second language, studying or interning abroad, and finally integrating global learning into the senior capstone.

This is an important step for accessibility to events on campus, and one that theatre faculty and staff have long wanted to make a reality.
Pacific University has been selected to receive a small grant to support the Global Scholars Program as part of the U.S. Department of State’s 2019 Capacity Building Program for U.S. Study Abroad. Pacific University is one of 21 colleges and universities from across the United States selected from over 120 applications to create, expand, and/or diversify American student mobility overseas in support of foreign policy goals. The Capacity Building Program for U.S. Study Abroad is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in its implementation by World Learning.
Pacific University student Nicole Yip ‘18 has been selected to receive a 2018-2019 U.S. Fulbright Student Award to teach English in Panama following graduation.
