On Monday evening, Pacific University staff members were made aware of a video posted on social media, in which a former student makes racist comments about a fellow student. We absolutely condemn this behavior.

In episode 2 of Rising from the Margins, Creating a Survival Toolkit, staff psychologist and EDI Outreach Director Dr. Shirley Ley introduces the idea of creating survival as opposed to self-care kits. The term survival does a better job at reflecting the realities of people of color.
Styrofoam will no longer be allowed for use with food at Pacific University campuses after July 1, 2021. The new ban prohibits the purchasing, selling, providing or use of Styrofoam food service containers at any Pacific University authorized concessions, university sponsored events, or university programs.
Eligible Pacific students will receive a $400 payment. Payments will be distributed on a rolling basis starting May 29.

In the two months since the COVID-19 pandemic transformed our daily ways of life, Pacific University has made significant adaptations in the ways we teach, learn, work and live. I know that, for many of you, questions about the future of your education loom large. I assure you, Pacific will be here for you, delivering the quality education you have come to expect and helping you move forward in your path to the future.
