Pacific University is committed to sustainability. University Information Services (UIS) has employed many practices to meet that mission of providing a sustainable campus environment.

Outage Window

  • Tuesdays, 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. for minor interruptions
  • Sundays, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for major interruptions

Please do not schedule system-dependent events during these times.

What is an Outage Window?

Servers and network systems require occasional planned outages for repairs and upgrades. Whenever possible, UIS will schedule these planned outages during our defined outage window. An outage window is defined in advance so that event schedulers know to avoid scheduling events during these times. All planned outages will be announced, with as much advance notice as possible, on the UIS main page, via emails to appropriate user lists, and (when outages affect wide populations) via mass broadcast emails.
