Learn how to write for print and broadcast media outlets, create still and moving visual images and use the latest computer communication technology.
Take a wide range of courses in writing, editing, design, video production, integrated media and photography. Work on the print and digital editions of The Pacific Index student newspaper and/or participate in media and public relations internships.
Gain expertise in using high-definition cameras and a digital media lab that features graphic design, illustration, web design and digital audio and video production hardware and software. Work with Pacific’s Media Arts Production Services to gain practical job experience and/or study abroad for a semester at York St. John University in York, England.

Financial support for internships launch student careers. For Deanté Grinner ’20, first recipient of Pacific University’s Arts & Sciences Endowed Internship Fund Scholarship, the $500 scholarship helped cover his expenses while working as an unpaid intern during the summer of 2019 at a Cornelius-based cinematic grip and lighting firm.
Pacific students have a new place to make their ideas take shape — the Boxer Makerspace. It’s an inviting new area on the second floor of the Tim & Cathy Tran Library where students can use 3D printers, a laser engraver, a vacuum formbox and other tools to create prototypes of their own design.
